What happens when the slow, deliberate stroke of a calligraphy nib meets the quiet work of self-reflection? Join artist Katie Brinkley and certified life coach Mary Larson for an afternoon connecting calligraphy and mindfulness.
The session opens with an introduction to the art of dip pen calligraphy and the surprisingly meditative technique of learning to hold and move the pen with intention.
Attendees will get practice paper and lettering pages, pen, two different nibs, and ink. At the end of the class, you get to take home your supplies to keep practicing!
Throughout the session attendees will engage in a guided mindfulness and life coaching experience that invites attendees to slow down and turn inward. Through gentle reflection and engaging prompts, attendees will uncover meaningful words or phrases that reflect their personal intentions—something they can carry with them and express through their calligraphy.
Attendees will be invited to write their meaningful word or intentional phrase in a guided booklet to reflect on and carry forward.
Whether you leave with a new creative skill, a fresh sense of direction, or simply a quieter mind, this workshop offers something that’s harder and harder to find: an unhurried few hours to show up, slow down, and put something meaningful on the page.
