Join us for local artist, Tamila Theall’s art show for the month of June at the CalvART Gallery, “Finding Light in the Shadows.”Tamila explains her process of creating the pieces in her show. She says, “As a child, I always doodled, drew, or painted. While studying physics engineering at Tbilisi University, art classes were offered in the evenings. I used this excellent opportunity to learn about composition, color theory, light and shadow, perspective, and everything else one must consider when painting on a 2D surface and trying to immerse the viewer in a 3D experience. We see objects because light bounces off them and enters our eyes. Shadows are formed when an object blocks light from a source. I selected “Finding light in the Shadows” as a name for my show because I hope my paintings will be a source of light and positive energy during difficult times that every human experiences at one time or another.”
The show will run from June 7th – July 26th, with a reception on June 19th from 5-7pm
